Maiden Voyage
29. October 2009 by Soul Singh Khalsa.
We all have dreams. Things we need to accomplish this lifetime. I have one and in these blogs I will share with you how this dream have manifested itself. I have always had a big problem with memoirs, especially when someone hasn’t accomplished anything. . But I do believe in giving people hope. Throw a protagonist with huge odds against their success and see them succeed in spit of everything. That seems to me very American. Cross the prairies, cross the seas and find a new life. But perhaps, more correctly it’s a human thing. We all have prairies and seas we must cross.
My spiritual teacher gave me one of those challenges more than twenty years. “Soul, your Destiny is to interpret the soul of Sikh Dharma!” he exclaimed, pointing his finger in my direction. Basically - Paint a picture of the spiritual path that people will get lost in and then find their way out of.
Ever since then, I have labored to make that a reality. Three books have been written. The first one you are seeing here. But more than a book its about helping to create a change. We all know the injunction the, “Sex sells” But what is true and perhaps truer, is the “soul sells.” The story of the soul is more compelling anything else. We’ve seen this in “The Lord of the Rings” and the Harry Potter series, which are basically soul journeys.
With all the turmoil of the present and anxiety over the future, these soul journey stories will be essential for our well-being and I hope to play a part in that renaissance.

The Mechanics of Good Karma
10. December 2008 by Soul Singh Khalsa.
We’re often advised to do good deeds and that there is some reward in it. But how does this transaction actually work? Recently, I got a chance to see.
Every Friday night, we have chanting at our house. We build the energy up for thirty-one minutes and then direct it in prayer. On one of these Fridays, I mentioned that we would be praying for a friend of mine, Alfredo, who was facing a serious medical condition.
There was a women there who didn’t know Alfredo, but knew of all the work he had done in helping us push our new gurdwara(temple) forward. “Oh, Alfredo,” she exclaimed, her eyes visibly brightening with a smile. “He has done so much.”
At that moment, you could see the intensity of prayer totally change. It turned way up, all without her knowing him! Simply the knowledge of his good deeds had engaged her psyche and healing projection. Money or persuasion could never buy that. Only those deeds done in self-sacrifice, could. Only good karma.

Breaking Through
5. December 2008 by Soul Singh Khalsa.
Recently, someone lent me a six CD set of pop music from the fifties. After listening to it, I could see the energy of rock & roll trying to rear its head up out of the mushy swamp of pop music. Suddenly, you can hear it full-bore with great musicians like Chuck Berry and Ray Charles, but mostly you hear people trying and trying to break through.
Today, the whole Art scene, whether it’s music, movies or books, feels very much like the fifties. Something new is awaiting us. Art will different across-the-board, than it is today. Not only will it speak to our souls, but it will give us spiritual energy, like a totem does for a tribe.
That’s how its power will be measured. Not by who did it, but by how it nourishes us internally, so that we can face the pressures outside.

Soul Singh Khalsa Blog

I’m really excited about this roll-out of, “The Ghost of Susan Strasser”. As someone who isn’t a big cyber-guy, this whole development came as a bit of a surprise to me. But after being met with rejection and indifference by the publishing industry for several years, I realized I needed to go in a different direction.
So, I began to assemble a team to manifest that vision. First, came my highly creative producer, Liv Singh, followed by Karen Pearlman who expertly produced the great narration by Holter Graham.
In all this, we wanted to provide you with a real experience of the story before you needed to put out any of your money. To that end, we created these little movies to set the mood and then put in the first nine chapters, so that you could read and hear it as well.
I hope you enjoy it. There is a lot of love and devotion in this project and it is my deep prayer that you feel it.
